The CPSU SPSF stands with PSA NZ members across Aotearoa taking strike action for fair pay, pay equity, and strong public services.

Public service workers are being asked to accept real wage cuts through a cost-of-living crisis, while seeing public sector jobs and services cut.

This comes after the New Zealand Government tore up existing pay equity claims, making it harder for workers in female-dominated industries to challenge decades of systemic undervaluation.

These are hard-won rights. They should be strengthened, not stripped away.

Public sector workers keep communities running. They deserve decent wages, safety and respect at work, and equal pay for work of equal value.

When governments come after workers’ wages, public services, and union-won gains, the answer is collective action.

To PSA members taking action across Aotearoa: Australian public sector unionists stand with you.

Your fight is our fight.

In solidarity,

Stewart Little,
Federal Secretary

Thirza White,
Federal President
